Discoveries made in science during the Renaissance era not only changed the world, but continue to influence modern day society. The SciTech Festival is a proud presenter of the Arizona Renaissance Festival’s Age of Discovery STUDENT DAY, March 3rd, 9a.m. – 2:30p.m., and we are hoping to include ‘strolling engineers’ in this year’s educational experience! No need to worry about costume or ‘speech of the era’, but instead focus on what was known and unknown about engineering during that time. We plan to have some small demonstration items, such as a mini catapult and mini versions of DaVinci’s drawings for you to describe and use to evoke thought and reflection from the students as they move around the festivities. Expected engagement time with any group of students would be 1-3 minutes, so no professional speaking skills are necessary. Just have fun with it, and take the opportunity to inspire our future engineers!
