National Geographic STEM Saturday –Notebooking: Communicating in STEM & Building Habits of Mind
Want to learn how student notebooking supports STEM instruction? This FREE workshop will focus on effective STEM communication and the Habits of Mind scientists and engineers engage in - the values, attitudes and thinking skills that drive the work of scientists and engineers.
The opening keynote will be presented by National Geographic Learning author and Associate Professor of Science Education, Dr. Malcolm Butler, followed by a hands-on 2-hour breakout session. The K-6 focus room and the 6-12 focus room will be facilitated by National Geographic Learning specialists and ADE’s K-12 Standards team. Participants will explore best practices and resources that support notebooking as a form of communication and Habits of Mind in STEM, while solving hands-on bioengineering problems.
Continental breakfast and National Geographic resources will be provided.
