American Meteorological Society's Teacher Weather Workshop

This science teachers' workshop is to be held in conjunction with the American Meteorological Society's (AMS) annual meeting in Phoenix. The workshop does not include access to the annual meeting. The workshop will be Saturday, January 3, 2015. The workshop will highlight scientists' discussions of relevant weather issues (showcasing the Southwest), a Share-a-thon, and round table activities. Activities will be presented as well as relevant content knowledge.

 This science teachers' workshop is to be held in conjunction with the American Meteorological Society's (AMS) annual meeting in Phoenix.  The workshop does not include access to the annual meeting.  The workshop will be Saturday, January 3, 2015.  The workshop will highlight scientists' discussions of relevant weather issues (showcasing the Southwest), a Share-a-thon, and round table activities.  Activities will be presented as well as relevant content knowledge. The workshop is open to science(or those that teach science along with another field) in grades 4-12.  Certificates will be issued so teachers may receive credits or CEUs through their school districts.  We have space for 50 teachers!

Workshop Cost is $25:  Those attending will receive a free copy of the AMS weather book valued at $50.  This book contains more than 100 graphic illustrations, in full color and exceptional detail that serve to illuminate and explain a host of atmospheric phenomena, from the Northern Lights and lake-effect snow to the jet stream and ocean currents.
