Tribal College Convening and Native American Women in STEM
Diné College will collaborate with Arizona State University’s Center for Gender Equity in Science and Technology (CGEST) to convene 37 Tribal College presidents in a 2-day meeting.

Hosted at ASU, the goals are to 1) Identify effective strategies for and barriers to recruiting and retaining Native American women into STEM; 2) Construct action plans to address disparity in a sustainable ways; and 3) Document the meeting’s proceedings and outcomes to inform subsequent activities. We will also provide support to at least 30 Native American female STEM students to attend this convening. Capturing their voices will be critical to this process. Outcomes from this meeting include: 1) Documented strategies that can be spread; 2) Universities committed to partnering on the execution of a viable, co-constructed action plan; and 3) Providing a forum for Native American female STEM students to create and sustain their own advocacy group.

Private donations fund our operating budget, education and research efforts.
