Aldo Leopold was a hunter, conservationist, forester, educator and author.  He is known as the "Father of Wildlife Management."  His observations and experiences in the Southwest, primarily Arizona and New Mexico, shaped his philosophies, his career and wildlife conservation in general.

The Arizona Game and Fish Department has created a brand new resource that is perfect for secondary science, social studies and even language arts teachers.  Your students will walk in the footsteps of Leopold as he explores the Southwest.  Bring his fascinating story into your classroom with this free, web-based activity.

To access the resource, visit http://tiny.cc/leopoldsw

If you want to learn even more about Leopold, the Dept. has teamed up with the Phoenix Zoo for a new virtual book club designed specifically for educators.  We will explore Leopold's most famous book, A Sand County Almanac.  The book club will run from January through May 2016.  For more information visit http://tiny.cc/bookclub
