Facility with mathematical thinking is essential to student understanding of science, engineering, and technology.

This event will focus on the connections between mathematics and the fields of science, technology, and engineering.  Dependent upon participant interest, workshop leaders are prepared to address the following for the no-tech, low-tech, or technology-rich classroom:

  • Elementary/Middle School — science and engineering activities that help develop reasoning with fractions and fundamental measurement concepts.
  • Upper Middle/Intro High School — data collection from physical systems that require students to build and interpret linear mathematical models.
  • High School — relating quadratic and exponential functions to applications in the areas of physical and life sciences.
  • Advanced High School — using trigonometric functions to generate models for life science, engineering, and physical science.

  $10 PRE-REGISTRATION ONLINE, $12 AT THE DOOR
