An opportunity for high school students to explore careers in transportation. There is NO COST to the student to participate. The National Summer Transportation Institute (NSTI) is sponsored by the US Department of Transportation, Federal Highway Administration, Office of Civil Rights. 

This is a residential program at ASU¹s Polytechnic campus, and four camps are offered. 

June 19-24, 2016 

July 10-15, 2016 

July 17-22, 2016 

July 24-29, 2016 

There are 32 seats in each program, and seats are filling up. We particularly encourage students from RURAL Arizona to consider participating in this week-long experience.

National Summer Transportation Institute (NSTI): 

Are you an Arizona high school student interested in learning more about engineers and the ways in which they impact our world and society? The Summer Transportation Institute will engage you in projects and field trips that demonstrate how all types of engineers (from aerospace to software) plan and maintain our systems of transportation around the state of Arizona. 

Spend four nights and five days living on the Arizona State University Polytechnic campus and learn how all types of engineers (from aerospace to software) plan and maintain our systems of transportation around the state. This program is funded by the National Summer Transportation Institute and is FREE of charge to participants. Review the program web site to apply or check out dates (NSTI 2016

How to Apply: 

1. The application process requires the following documents to be uploaded 

Unofficial transcripts showing latest GPA 

1 Letter of recommendation (from either; science, math, or engineering teacher) 

Letter of Interest 

Recent Physical or Medical Release form 

 

2. In the application, also identify 1st and 2nd choice for week of camp. 

3. After you apply, you will be notified by email that the application is being processed. 

4. Within 2 weeks following processing notification, you should be notified if accepted.
