Free Computer Science Workshop for Teachers This Summer (UP Matters)

Computer science and programming are becoming an essential tool in the world today. Teachers at all grade levels who want to learn how to bring computer science into their classrooms are invited to participate in a free three-day workshop at Michigan Technological University this summer. The workshop is scheduled for Aug. 15–17 at Michigan Tech in Houghton. It is funded by a Google Inc. Fund of Tides Foundation grant. Participating teachers will be housed at the Magnuson Franklin Square Inn at no cost to themselves. Meals, a stipend to assist with travel and other expenses, and a year of technical support from a Michigan Tech computer science graduate student are also included.

Private donations fund our operating budget, education and research efforts.
