CALLING ALL K-12 NOVICE TEACHERS OF SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING OR MATH

Registration is currently open for novice teachers (first 5 years) to participate in the Teacher Leadership Program for 2017-18 school year. The program includes a mentor from the same discipline/grade level, face-to-face professional development on content and pedagogy throughout the year, attendance to conferences regarding science, technology, engineering, and/or math, resources, and classroom observations.

Register by June 15th for ½ off the cost (originally $2,000).

We are pleased to have financial support from APS Foundation, who will provide each participant a $1,000 discount.

As one of the protégés shared, “When it comes to ASTA's Teacher Leadership Program, I cannot speak highly enough. I have learned so many valuable lessons through the professional development opportunities, as well as the mentor teacher connection. The most valuable aspect would easily be the observation, support, and encouragement that has come from my veteran teacher mentor. [She] has given me resources, books, ideas, and advice that has helped to shape and steer my teaching journey. She has challenged me to think outside of what I default to in my teaching practice. In addition to this, I find that the conferences that ASTA has made possible, through advisement or funding, has also greatly shaped my educator education.”
