Arizona Western College was recently awarded a portion of $2.625 million in grant funds by Science Foundation Arizona (SFAz) given to assist rural community colleges and Hispanic-serving institutions.

AWC will receive approximately $75,000 over a three-year period through the grants from the National Science Foundation as a way to expand their pathways for students in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) fields.

SFAz received $1.8 million for its Hispanic-Serving Community College (HSCC) KickStarter Program, which is a national effort to reach out to colleges and provide federal grant-writing assistance.
