Free Computer Science Training for Teachers This Summers in Arizona

Applications are being accepted right now for any interested schools that want to offer Computer Science Discoveries(Grades 7-9) as a class next school year 2017-18, or AP CS Principles (Grades 10-12).


Computer Science Training for MS and HS teachers: in conjunction with our regional CS Partnership is offer a FREE MS/HS computer science training in the new curriculum.


New this year for grades 7-9, is CS Discoveries. This course is taking the place of's offering of Exploring Computer Science (ECS).


The requirements to attend this FREE, amazing opportunity, are as follows:

1.            Commitment from your administrator that the CS Discoveries and/ or the AP CS Principles course will be taught in the '17-'18 school year. Preferential selection will be for those teachers that can teach the full year, or both semesters of the courses. Training is for the teacher who will teach the class, not district administrators.

2.            Commitment to attend the 5 day training (locations TBD) in July,16-21, 2017 for CS Discoveries and July 10th-14thfor the AP CS Principles course.

3.               Commitment to attend four follow-up sessions to be held at GCU each quarter during the school year. AP CS Principles is a high school course that was offered for the first time last year. The course will prepare students to take the AP CS exam by the College Board.

For your dedication and commitment to teach CS, your training for this course and all related materials will be provided to you FREE of charge. You will also have your entire trip (flight, hotel, food, incidentals) all PAID FOR.
